Savannah, Georgia, is known for its rich history, charming streets, and, of course, its delicious Southern cuisine. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, finding dining options is easier than ever. From casual bites to elegant dinners, these are some of my favorite gluten-free restaurants in Savannah. I definitely enjoy going out to eat when I can, and when cross-contamination procedures are clear! (if you know you know!)
- Kayak Kafe
If you’re looking for fresh, healthy options, Kayak Kafe is the place to be. I enjoy their burgers with gluten-free buns, quesadillas, and their hefty salads! - The Pirates House
For a dining experience steeped in history, head over to The Pirates’ House. This Savannah institution dates back to 1753 and offers a menu with a mix of Southern classics and seafood. They have a separate gluten-free menu that you can request in-person! - Crystal Beer Parlor
Crystal Beer Parlor is a local favorite that serves up classic American dishes with a Southern twist. Their menu includes several gluten-free options, from fresh salads to seafood dishes and grilled meats. - Your Pie Sandfly
If you’re craving pizza but without the gluten, look no further than Your Pie Sandfly. This pizza joint offers a variety of crusts and will make your pizza separately in the back kitchen if you need. - The Vault Kitchen & Market Savannah
For a unique dining experience, head to The Vault, a stylish and upscale restaurant that offers an innovative menu with a variety of choices. Located in a former bank building, this restaurant combines historical architecture with modern cuisine. - Fire Street Food
Fire Street Food offers a mix of globally inspired flavors. I like to get the pad-thai, but you can also get the teriyaki dishes gluten-free. - Oak 36 Bar + Kitchen
Oak 36 Bar + Kitchen is another fantastic option for gluten-free dining in Savannah with options clearly listed on the menu.
Fast Food Spots
Sometimes, you just want a quick bite, and luckily, Savannah has some fast food spots that cater too.
- Chick-fil-A: Known for its chicken sandwiches, Chick-fil-A offers gluten-free salads, grilled chicken, and a variety of sides. You can also swap the bun on a chicken sandwich for a lettuce wrap or a separate allergen friendly bun.
- Five Guys: If you’re craving a burger, Five Guys is a great choice. They offer burgers wrapped in lettuce instead of a traditional bun. Pair it with their signature fries, which are cooked in dedicated fryers, making them safe for those avoiding gluten.
Breakfast & Brunch
Whether you’re looking for a hearty breakfast or a delicious brunch, Savannah has some great spots that offer allergen-friendly options.
- Collins Quarter: Collins Quarter is known for its relaxed vibe and creative menu. The restaurant offers gluten-free options like avocado toast (on gluten-free bread), eggs benedict, and freshly made smoothies. Collins Quarter in Forsyth will also make the french toast with gluten-free bread as well!
- Funky Brunch Café: If you’re in the mood for a quirky brunch experience, Funky Brunch Café is the place to be. Known for its fun décor and indulgent dishes, this café offers a gluten-free menu with options like gluten-free pancakes and omelets. They do not take reservations!
- Original Pancake House: Craving pancakes? The Original Pancake House serves up a gluten-free version of their signature pancakes, as well as other breakfast favorites like eggs and bacon. It’s a perfect spot for a classic breakfast.
Dessert Spots You Can’t Miss
No meal is complete without a sweet treat, and Savannah has some incredible dessert options.
- Leopold’s
Despite the long wait times, Leopold’s is very accommodating and will scoop ice cream from fresh containers to avoid cross-contamination! - Dads Donut House – Food that loves you
A must-have treat every month for donut lovers! Once a month, this company has a gluten-free Tuesday where you can order donuts! They will deliver the donuts to you in the Savannah area! Great family!
